T is for Two

When it comes to travel, I prefer two to one.

Solo travel and me are like oil and vinegar. Ok but not the perfect blend.

Travelling together is like salt and vinegar. Great and the perfect blend, especially for potato chips, that is.

It Takes Two To Travel

Travelling together from A to Z.

Do you prefer to travel alone or with someone else?

I totally agree. Traveling with others makes it so much more fun!

Oh my gosh this is a very good question. When I went to Thailand on vacation while I was teaching English in China I went with two other teachers (people I wouldn’t have been friends with normally) and I wanted to go to all the Buddhist temples while they wanted to go to the red light district to get lucky. Talk about mismatched travelling buddies. Now, being married with kids, I can’t see myself travelling without my family. I can’t imagine myself travelling alone.

Oh boy that sounds like different travelling partners! And I agree – travel with family is the best.

Thank you so much! Yes, we are fortunate to have so many happy memories involving travel.

I like both, depending on where I am, what I’m doing, and what the purpose of the travel is. Sometimes I like to be quiet and introspective, and other people definitely mess that up! Other times, it’s more fun to see things through both your own eyes and someone else’s.

I can see that. I do love experiencing travel through the eyes of our children. But if it was more of a spa like holiday, alone would be great too!

Definitely depends on the travel partner. I have a travel partner I meet up with somewhere in the world every couple of years and we have a great time together. Other people I’ve traveled with have been just insufferable. But yes – for the most part, it’s always great to have someone to share the amazing moments with.

I get that. I had one partner and we split up for a day or 2 on the road. It just didn’t work.

I think it depends on who I’m with and where I’m going. There are pros and cons to both.

Your pictures show years of happy memories! That’s one thing that tends to be missing when you go solo.

Does Choppy count as someone? She is a great traveling companion! (So is the hubby – I’ve just spent more time on the road with the dog!).

It depends. If I really want to see a lot then solo is better. If it’s more of a relaxing vacation then I prefer to be with the family.
