I agree. I have always been about experiences for the most part. Every now and then I might forget but the minute I travel again… that is what I desire.

I think minimalism in general is really inspirational. I could probably do without a lot of the things I have, but it makes me a little sad to give up my little luxuries!

I know. I haven’t perfected this by any means… have a long way to go still. Baby steps…

I have been watching the “Human Planet” put out by BBC. They do a whole episode on the struggles of living in a desert and how the inhabitants manage so brilliantly. It’s really a great show. It’s on Netflix.

Travelling really does cause us to re-evaluate our possessions. Some don’t like travelling because they need to be embraced by what is familiar to them and their creature comforts. Then there are others who realize exactly how little we really need except for the people in our lives we really care for.

  19. I’m struck by the beautiful colours they pulled together in such a stark environment.

I enjoyed both the photo and the inspiration you derived from it. I keep trying to remind myself of the same thing as I try to declutter and downsize my possessions. 🙂

I know Janet. It is a constant challenge to remind ourselves that “less can be more” at times with respect to possessions. As I go out shopping to buy more stuff in preparation for our move…. 🙂

Yes! I get that feeling every time I return home from camping or travels. I wonder what IS all this stuff for? Thanks for the inspiration!

You are most welcome Paula… and I know exactly what you are talking about… the tons of little and even big items you think you can’t live without and then never get used!
