Uhmm… I Have A Few Bags To Check

photos for blog from feb to july 2015 417

Today is official unpack and repack day since the whole packing thing is not going so well.

I am wondering if Egypt Air would notice if I showed up with a few extra inches and a few extra pounds here and there. I wish there was a way to distract Mr.or Mrs. Egypt Air so they didn’t notice.

Any ideas on how to get away with the above? If so, please let me know pronto. πŸ™‚

ok, this photo is truly funny! And I’m really curious about how much work it took to pile all that luggage up and keep it balanced!

No cruise ship available? 😜 You know me..I’d book a six week boat trip to get there and insist I took to the water instead of the air because ..you know… too much luggage.

A good reason to ship yourself and all your bags over… you can see a lot still via a cruise ship!

That photo is beyond! Too funny!! I am such an over packer. Never want to be too cold or too hot. I’m obviously reading this after the fact, hope everything went ok!

Nope, I am still here in Canada and playing with the packing. Have bit the bullet and decided we have to go with one extra suitcase! And I too have declared myself an over packer this time round. πŸ™‚

I was in such a packing dilemma when I decided to give up my apartment and hit the road. A couple of weeks in, I couldn’t even remember what I had left behind in those boxes and cupboards! Take what you can and forget about the rest πŸ˜‰

I tend to go with lottery ticket. I bought one today and may soon be $210 million richer! I also hereby promise to pay your baggage fee should I win the big prize – I’ll be a high roller, then!

Noooooo πŸ™‚ It is a photo of bags at an airport that they do as an advertisement. However, our 4 and 2 huge carry ons may look similar by the time this move is all over!

Welcome to Egypt! It’s always an adventure here. EgyptAir does tend to be lenient about baggage, but it really depends on the person you’re checking in with. Good luck!

Do you have evidence that you’re relocating for work? A lot of airlines will waive excess baggage as part of a relocation.

I love the fact that other people repack things…I’ll be on my 3rd repack this week before flight on 11th! Think I’ll probably fit in a 4th too!

Helium might help with the weight but the balloons would cause more problems. Try books in carry ons.

You hit the nail on the head. I have just begun to weigh down my carry on with the books. I like the helium idea though!

I have watched the use of space bags go horribly wrong, as in no-one could lift the suitcase. I carry on books all the time. Phones and laptops can’t take the place of most books

The problem is that I can’t blame her. She has very little and needs very little…. just that kind of a teen I guess. It is my teaching stuff that is driving me nuts… mostly πŸ™‚

Whoa! How many bags do you plan to bring? :)))

    • lovetotrav · August 1, 2015

Well Dee… it is actually 2 bags per person but my problem was that I bought one bag which was oversize to start with and one that is undersize so I am starting all over with at least 3 bags that are the perfect size and another that I know fits within the dimensions. Now that my bags are properly sized, I still need to fit and cram the stuff in and be at the right weight. This has been a process!!!

I always find it a challenge to stick to the weight limit. If I have items in boxes, I usually take them out of the box. It helps with space and takes off some grams as well.
