Fresh new Converse sneakers get a test run in Canada before they move to Cairo next week. Today they experience Lake Ontario and soon, in their near future, the Nile River. I wonder which body of water they will enjoy most?
When I visited the Sahara desert, I found the nomads and their lifestyle inspirational. To live with so little under such harsh conditions, makes one rethink what possessions are really necessary.
A love lock to represent that I will still be half here when I am half there. (I will soon be leaving my husband to work in Cairo. He is not able to come since his work is in Canada and mine is in Egypt. We will be far apart but together at heart.)
This purple shell is from someone who I admire, respect and cherish. She has experienced a love that few do and a pain that most won’t, hopefully. She is my hero and I feel blessed to have known her. She has taught me more than any teacher could. And thankfully, she will continue to teach others.
(I put the shell on a cutting board as there is word play and symbolism there… just in case you have been lucky enough to know this grand person… life is full of beauty and pain and she has shown me the beauty within the pain.)
Whenever I travel, I focus on people and markets. Both are my passion and both are my muse. This is one of my favourite photos of both. A woman who sells as she goes. (Patzcuaro, Mexico)
All around us there were rainbows, even coming off the roofs of the buildings. – Pride Week, Toronto
Chocolate flavoured soda should be considered off-season all year! As shown, it was available for a limited time only. Thank goodness 🙂
Would you be willing to try chocolate flavoured soda?
Abby, always colourful, vibrant and a delight = vivid
On the way to shop in Chefchaouen, Morocco, I glanced down and saw the kitten curled up, asleep. Saddened by her forlorn looks, I wanted to pick her up and take her home. All of a sudden, shopping seemed less important.
Broken but still beautiful in Essaouira, Morocco. Jade and Chris try but don’t succeed. Unless a lot of laughter counts!
