Weekly Photo Challenge: A Symbol

This purple shell is from someone who I admire, respect and cherish. She has experienced a love that few do and a pain that most won’t, hopefully. She is my hero and I feel blessed to have known her. She has taught me more than any teacher could. And thankfully, she will continue to teach others.

(I put the shell on a cutting board as there is word play and symbolism there… just in case you have been lucky enough to know this grand person… life is full of beauty and pain and she has shown me the beauty within the pain.)

She truly is. She has recently lost her life partner but has such a positive outlook on life. I find her remarkable.

I hope I don’t “actually” understand the symbol, but I do understand that there was great pain. And survival with panache …and lessons learned.

The “cutting” board refers to her name… but it also symbolizes the pain she has felt in losing her husband way too early in life. Thanks for commenting.

I got the notion of pain, and slicing. I guess that’s why it’s a symbol…good job.

Lovely! I love the organic circular lines on the shell contrasting with the man-made straight lines etched into the cutting board.

I think maybe I understand the symbol. I too am glad she will continue to teach others. Hugs to you both.
